HISTORY & VISION

Meet Me On The 50 (MMOT50) is a media outlet promoting the existence and welfare of Collegiate and High School band programs in the U.S. Since its inception in 2016, MMOT50 has secured its place in the HBCU community by bringing to life original web series, legendary interviews, large scale live events, and overall quality content. Company Owner and Editor-in-Chief, Edward Evans has been active in the band community since 1998. He attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD earning a scholarship as a bandsman where he excelled quickly. By his sophomore year, he was selected as leader of the band, Drum Major where he continued to excel. After college, Edward joined the Marine Corps in 2001 where he began his career as an Information Technology Specialist. This occupation would prove to be of great use in his future endeavors. After leaving the Marine Corps, Edward began a career as an IT Specialist with the Federal Government. In addition, he also began to freelance as a photographer and amateur filmmaker. Using these two skills, he created his Band Media company, Meet Me On The 50. Traveling over 13 states in the United States, Edward has filmed bands such as Southern University, North Carolina A&T, Jackson State, and countless others. Edward has also built strong and lasting relationships with leadership over these programs. Edward has utilized his knowledge of computing and technology to create an online platform that garners over thousands of views and subscribers to his platforms.
